What's up with my heart rate During Exercise?

When I work out on the elliptical my heart rate is very high Usually from 175-195 in just the first FEW minutes. I am Neither normal sweating out of breath. Nor do I feel as Though I am working out hard at all. It Can Even be this high on level 1. My resting rate is low about 55. And I'm no athlete so I do not know what's going on here. I'd like to lose weight and know That this is above the "fat burning zone." Would be more Effective walking for fat loss? Or should I just ignore the thing and heart rate focus on the calories burned?

I would say if you do Not That Any negative Affects feel, Then Do Not worry about the heart rate monitor. This Could be normal for you (But not somebody else on the same machine) Regular walking (for excercise) is extremely beneficial Because as you are paying Attention to your path, and concentrating on the tempo of your stride, you loose yourself in the workout, PLUS you get fresh air.
