Fat Loss Exercise Program

I have heard that during your first week of a weight loss program, you don’t lose weight cuz you store water?
during the first week or two of weight loss there is no weight loss because the body stores extra water to accomadate the increased amount of exercise. Is this true?
I already heard of the “lost fat, gained muscle” theory and I don’t care about that. I wan’t to know if this water theory is true.
Please tell me your source/credentials or i you know a place that answers this SPECIFIC question
No. That is not true. Your body will not store a lot more water then it already does (if you don’t drink more). Because of the reduced amount of intake your body switches to energy saving mode.
The body tries to save everything possible that can be converted to energy. That’s also the reason why crash diets don’t tend to work that well. The reason why your body can not store more water is of chemical reason. Important processes in your body only work at a specific percentage of water. If there was a lot of more water stored you would simply die.
You should see results of your diet already at the end of the first week. Unfortunately I did not find a source, I read this in a book by Mark Verstegen
